Cookie policy

In short

  • The necessary ones (your session, language, theme and your cookie choice) can't be switched off: the sites don't work without them.
  • PostHog analytics, session recording and YouTube videos only load if you say yes.
  • “Reject all” always sits right next to “Accept all”. Whatever you choose applies across themariscal.com for 12 months.
  • We don't use advertising cookies and we don't sell anything to anyone.

This summary helps you find your way; it doesn't replace the full text.

1. What they are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This policy also covers similar technologies: local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), the browser cache and identifiers read from your device. To keep things simple, we call all of them “cookies”.

The law (art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and art. 43 of the Zakon o elektroničkim komunikacijama, the Croatian Electronic Communications Act) only lets us store what is strictly necessary for the service you asked for without asking. For everything else we need your prior, freely given and informed consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

2. Your preferences

Here you can see and change what you chose. You can also do it from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of the pages of any The Mariscal site.

Which cookies you allow

You can change your mind at any time. Your choice applies across themariscal.com for 12 months.

  • Necessary

Your session (Clerk), security, the language and theme you pick, and this choice itself. The site doesn't work without them.

    Always on
  • PostHog (EU servers): which pages are viewed, which buttons are pressed, how long things take to load. Used to improve the site, never for advertising.

  • PostHog replays how the pointer moved around a page so we can find what breaks. Anything you type is never recorded. Needs analytics.

  • Some pages show YouTube videos (Google). When they load, YouTube stores its own identifiers. If you say no, you get a button to load each video whenever you want.

If you reject analytics, PostHog stores nothing in your browser and sends nothing. If you withdraw consent later, we delete whatever was left.

5. Third-party videos (with your consent)

Some lessons and blog posts show YouTube (Google) videos. When a video loads, YouTube stores its own cookies and data in your browser (for example YSC, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, PREF and yt-remote-* keys) and sees your IP address. Google uses them under its policy and is responsible for them. The same goes for other embedded third-party content (for example from Instagram, TikTok or Spotify) in some posts.

If you don't accept “Third-party videos”, you'll see a button instead of the video so you can load it whenever you want. Tapping it saves your permission for that category across all sites; you can withdraw it at any time in Cookie preferences.

6. What we don't use

We don't use advertising cookies, social media pixels or Google Analytics, and we don't sell or share data with advertisers. Fonts are served from our own servers (not from Google).

7. How to change or withdraw your consent

  • From the panel above or from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of the pages: whatever you change applies straight away across themariscal.com.
  • If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as “Reject all”.
  • You can also clear cookies and storage in your browser settings. If you clear the necessary ones, you'll be signed out and the banner will come back.
  • We'll ask you again after 12 months or when we change what we store or why.
